The Pretoria Rose Society/Roosvereniging was started on October 2015 at the Ludwig’s Roses annual rose festival. Since then the society has been growing steadily.

It was soon discovered that there were many rose lovers in parts of the country – cities, small towns and farm communities – without any rose society.

Pretoria Rose Society then evolved into a society for Pretoria rose lovers as well as those from afar.

Members living far away sometimes visit Pretoria but they mostly learn about roses or showcase their roses on the very active WhatsApp group.

Pretoria gardeners have very good weather and a long rose season, and we have access to three Ludwig’s Roses branches and many amazing garden centres.
