The Midlands Rose Society hosted their Annual General meeting in June and Gail Birss, the Chairperson reminded members why we belong to a rose society, quoting from a past Chairperson:” We are members of the Midlands Rose Society as we LOVE roses and we are here to LEARN, and to SHARE ideas how to grow beautiful roses”

Just over 40 members attended the Annual General meeting and members were asked to bring plants to sell. This proved to be most successful, and the money received from the sales will go towards the maintenance of our Heritage Rose Garden.

 Sally Earl, a member of our Society was the guest speaker and she showed us some beautiful photographs not only of her recent trip to England, but other photographs of roses from different places and how roses can be used as climbers to cover walls, to screen off areas and to create borders.
